The first route of the “Green Wave” system has been launched in Tashkent
Specialists of the Road Traffic Organization Center calculated and configured the synchronized operation of traffic lights at 13 intersections on the section of Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street from the “Tura Buva” Mosque to Salom Street.
⏰ In the morning hours, the “Green Wave” operates towards the city center, and in the evening hours — in the opposite direction.
As a result of the synchronization of traffic lights, the travel time on this road section has significantly decreased.
In particular, on the route from the “Tura Buva” Mosque to Salom Street, the average travel time decreased from 8.5 minutes to 6 minutes, that is, by 29 percent.
In the opposite direction — from Salom Street to the “Tura Buva” Mosque — the travel time decreased from 10 minutes to 8 minutes, that is, by 20 percent.
📊 For the effective operation of the “Green Wave” system, drivers are required to comply with the Road Traffic Rules and the established speed limits.
When moving at a speed of 40–60 kilometers per hour on this road section, it is possible to pass through the intersections almost without stopping at the red traffic light.
Currently, specialists of the Road Traffic Organization Center are carrying out calculation and design works on introducing the “Green Wave” system on other streets of Tashkent city where smart traffic lights are installed.
